Chile's recognition of Palestine as a sovereign state
Xinhua San Diego Jan. 7 (Xinhua Luan Xiang) The Government of Chile Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 7th recognize Palestine as a free and independent sovereign state, become the region following the Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, after the recognition of the Palestinian State South American countries.
7, Chilean Foreign Minister Moreno announced to the media, Chile has always supported the Palestinian people to establish an independent state, the right to peaceful coexistence with Israel. This week, the Chilean Senate passed a resolution asking the Government to recognize the sovereign status of the State of Palestine, recognize Palestine as a free, independent sovereign state.
Moreno also stressed that the Chilean government received full support of Israel within internationally recognized borders secure the right to exist. He said the Chilean government strongly supports and advocates the Palestinian-Israeli negotiating process and the support of the international community must re-advance.
Chilean government said peace talks would help give new impetus to the relevant resolutions of the United Nations, to achieve a comprehensive, decisive and satisfactory peace agreement.
Chilean government also issued a statement that the President of Chile, Piniella will visit Israel and the Palestinians, in order to promote Chile as soon as possible with Israel and the Palestinians signed an agreement aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation negotiations.
