Hamas called on Egypt and Jordan will not participate in direct negotiations between Palestine and Israel
DAMASCUS, Aug. 24 (Xinhua arch-xi Liu Yue Hua) Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) politburo leader Meshaal said in Damascus on the 24th, hope that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordan's King Abdullah not to travel to Washington for the resumption of direct negotiations between Palestine and Israel ceremony.
Meshaal evening banquet national reporters in a speech said: "The disastrous consequences of direct negotiations between Palestine and Israel will spread to Egypt and Jordan as well as most of the Palestinian neighbors."
He said that the Palestinian National Authority agreed to participate in direct negotiations between Palestine and Israel, "just following orders from Washington", "most of the moderate Palestinians are opposed to direct negotiations between Palestine and Israel." Therefore, direct negotiations between Palestine and Israel "does not have legitimacy."
Mashaal called on the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) to keep a clear head. He said: "The success of the negotiations will not help the Palestinian cause, but in favor of Israel."
He called for Palestinian national strategy that includes strengthening the resistance to the occupation of choice, a strong grasp of negotiations chips, diversification options, upholding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to rebuild Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), to achieve Palestinian unity.
