Cisco released a home entertainment system challenge Google Apple TV

SAN FRANCISCO, January 7 morning news, Cisco on Wednesday the International Consumer Electronics Show CES 2011 posted a set of home entertainment systems, set network video, cable TV, video, and other functions with one.

The system, called Videoscape, includes a set-top boxes, software interface and other supporting tools that allow users to view or search for live, recording and broadcasting of TV programs or on-demand and online video. The system is also compatible with the supporting tools for high-end consumer-level conference call Cisco products umi.

Cisco also demonstrated the system to allow mobile devices from video streaming media software. Cisco said that this set of software can also run on other manufacturers of set-top boxes, mobile phones and other hardware.

the system's goal is to help cable operators against companies such as Apple and Google's offensive, defend their territory. These companies offer television service to watch online video, from a simple cable TV service.
